This year I’m expanding my PHP and MySQL skills a bit by developing a web app for my final year project. My idea is essentially to develop a bookmark management system, and the main focus for me with regards to getting this done and working in time, will be to get the back end developed and have as much functionality as possible. Second most important thing, will be having a functional front-end, and then exploring other areas if there is time.
The project is currently only in the early stages, but I’m feeling very enthusiastic and looking forward to getting things rolling.

The other day I finished up the theming of my blog. It’s fairly basic, but it is my first time workings with Wordpress. I do feel like I’ve managed to use it to do what I wanted though.
I did quite like working with it, it was fairly straight forward, parts of it seemed as though they were working as if by magic, and there was plenty of help online. Overall a really pleasant and enlightening experience. I’m a bit dubious about stuff that I’ve read about people who have used Wordpress as an all encompassing CMS… not too sure about that. It was great for doing a blog with though.
